This coming Saturday is Unit 479’s ANNUAL PARTY AND ELECTION OF OFFICERS! FREE PLAY AND FREE PIZZA PARTY!
So instead of breakfast and bridge, we will start playing at 9:30 (no breakfast) – which will be followed by a pizza and salad lunch. Coburg pizzas and homemade salads – all compliments of the Unit as a thank you for your continuing support.
Once again, it would be great to have a limited game for all of you in the back room who have 0-349 Master Points. Please send Susie Leo your names to reserve your spots. susie@susieleo.com.
There will be a brief meeting after pizza to elect new officers to the Unit Board and to briefly tell you what the Unit is doing to further promote the game of bridge.
We hope to see all of you next Saturday.

- Published On: January 16th, 20250 Comments on Real Time Bridge Teaching Sessions Coming Up

From Unit President Betsy Ovitt:
Greetings —
Don Marsh – Teacher extraordinaire is going to teach four sessions for Novice-Intermediate players. Which means good, solid 2/1 bridge, nothing too esoteric! 😊
So you do not need to have a partner to sign up. It would good to let me know each week if you are coming so we have folks to play with you if you do not have a partner. You don’t need to attend all, just some or one or two is fine or all four.
Here are the details:
Dates: Wednesdays from 2-4 PM at EBC on January 22 and 29, February 5 and 12
Format: Don will put together boards for tables to play. When tables have finished, then they will discuss the bidding and the play of the hand and, gosh, why didn’t everyone bid and play them the same ????
Cost: $10 for each session per student. The real cost is $20, but the Unit Board decided to cover $10 per student for each session because the Board is enthusiastic about helping you improve your bridge game.
No food, just coffee.
Volunteers: We are looking for folks to volunteer to play for singles for each session…if you are not needed to play, you can leave, or you are welcome to stay and participate in the discussion. Please reply to me if you can help out.
Thanks.
Betsy Ovitt
