• Swiss teams will be Saturday, December 14th. Lots of folks responded that they would be able to play on that date so we will see if we can make it work.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone. We are truly grateful and thankful to be part of such a caring and loving and, most of all, fun group of folks.

  • This message is for our 349er players.

Kevin Kacmarynski is going to present 4 free classes at an upcoming regional tournament. He has asked for input on what topics would be most helpful to our 349ers aka I/N players.

Here is how you can help. Please email me back with your answers to these bridge questions. If you have other questions, send those too! These are just to spark your mind to think about gaps in your own game.

    1. What area of bridge do you feel you need the most help with? Bidding? Defense? Play of the hand? All of them?
    2. What specific topic would you choose to have a lesson on? Some ideas are slam bidding, defense against NT, cue bids, etc.
    3. What are partnership agreements and why are they so important?

Please get back to me by Monday, November 25, if you have ideas for lesson topics. Be as specific as possible.

Thank you for helping Kevin! 😊

  • Hi 349ers!

The next Unit Game is Saturday, October 19. To be clear, that is NOT this coming Saturday (UO vs Ohio State day). It is the following Saturday. Food and conversation at 9:00 and bridge at 9:30.

Please email me with your name and partner’s name if you want to reserve a place in the Limited Game room (back room). Let’s have a great turnout and fill all the tables!

Many thanks to all of you for supporting your/our Unit with this great event. Many thanks also to our chefs….I can’t recall right now who they are, but it will be fabulous food I am sure.

  • Ellen is promoting online limited games on Wednesday evening and asked us to send this out:

Starting on Wednesday, October 9th, EBC will host three games simultaneously on BBO.

    6:00 pm               18-board 199er game
    6:15 pm               18-board 499er game
    6:30 pm               Regular open game

It is very important that we support the 199er and 499er games.  Three tables are needed for each game to run.  If these games don’t succeed, the only none-open game will be the once a month 299er Unit Game, so please make an effort to play.

We specifically asked for 18 board games for the 199er and 499er games so that they don’t run for more than 2 hours.  If we decide later we’d like more boards, Don will change it.  The Albany/Corvallis Bridge Club has been invited in hopes of picking up a few more tables.
