• As much as possible, let’s confine food consumption to the kitchen or lounge area. We all understand per having a beverage at the table.

We also plan to begin using the backroom as a way of spreading out the tables. Yes, we are all together at the table. There is not a reason though for the tables to be close together.

Per the gathering for Leigh on Saturday: Yes, it will involve food. Everyone will have to decide for themselves what they want to do. Should you not want to attend, feel free to submit (via email or dropping if off at EBC) anything you might want to share with the family. Reminder that this will be held immediately following the Unit game which will start at 10:00am.

  • Leigh’s family would like to gather and share some time and a few good stories. We are going to do this on Saturday, October 16th. That is the morning of the Unit game. The idea is to gather after the game and have lunch. Because Leigh’s son will be coming from Sacramento that morning, we are going to move the start of the Unit game back by a half-hour to 10:00AM.

EBC/Unit will provide the lunch. Salad, sandwiches, and Leigh’s famous butternut squash soup.

So, to be clear. The Unit game will start at 10:00. Following the game, we will all gather, have lunch, and share our best Leigh stories. So, even if you cannot make the Unit game, please plan on attending the lunch and memorial for Leigh which will follow the game at approximately 1:30.

District 20 has something called Area Reps. These are folks who are liaisons between the local Units and the District board. There are several. Our Area Rep is the liaison for Eugene-Springfield, Albany-Corvallis and Salem. This is a two-year term. It rotates amongst the three areas. It is our turn to provide someone if anyone is interested. Dennis is very willing to continue should no one show interest. If you think you might be interested, contact John Wolf or any member of the Board.

    From Laurie Rowe:

It really is a great position and not a lot of work. 2 board meetings a year usually Seaside and Vancouver regional. There is a little perk that goes with the job as you get $100 yearly from each unit to help with your travel expenses although obviously meetings have been zoom.
