Dorlon Himber Has Passed Away
Don has announced that long-time club member Dorlon Himber has passed away.
We are all saddened by the passing of this kind, gentle man. It was always a pleasure to come to his table and be greeted so sweetly, every time. We’ll miss him. Godspeed, Dorlon, wherever your next journey takes you.
Here are some additional thoughts from our club members:
Bless his heart. What a kind man. I am so sad that sweet man is gone. Happy trails, dear Dorlon.
That’s so sad. We will miss that sweet man.
So sorry to hear – condolences to his family.
This is sad news. I was just thinking about him today as we sat down at table 2 about how I hadn’t seen him for a while. He will be missed.
He was one of the many wonderful and kind members at our club. We will miss him for sure.
So sad to hear that Dorlon has passed. I knew him to be very sweet and a lovely man. He will be missed.
I also want to send thoughts to Roy. You sat across the table from Dorlon for many years. I heard only kind words and support from you to Dorlon. This must be especially difficult for you. You have lost a long time friend and I wish you peace as you move forward.
I want to send my condolences to Dorlon’s family and to Roy. Dorlon was a loyal Oregon women’s sports fan and I often saw him at games. Even though he didn’t remember me, I met him in the 70s. I worked in the central office of Tiffany Drug Company and we bought all our comics, magazines and paperbacks from his dad’s business. Dorlon was a kind soul. I will miss seeing him.

During my friendship with Dorlon I have often been struck by how many people he touched over his life.
I would mention my bridge partner, Dorlon, and would immediately get a response, “Oh, I knew someone named Dorlon when I —shopped at Bookmark; went to games; bought from Himber Wholesalers; attended various Duck support clubs; etc.
He and I had a good partnership that allowed for disagreement and negotiating corrections on both sides.
His passing was not unexpected, but leaves a huge hole for me.
