More About Weekly Greenhouse Game
Here is an explanation of how the Greenhouse bridge game is run.
If you’ve never attended a Greenhouse game, email Meda Brown (medabrown@gmail.com) and let her know you’d like to get announcements about future games.
Friendly Bridge at the “Greenhouse” is played Mondays at the historic McNail Riley House located across from the Lane Events Center, 601 W. 13th Ave, Eugene, OR 97402. Parking is available on the Lane Events Center property at the corner of 13th and Jefferson. Some people find on-street parking along Jefferson.
Folks show up between 9am – 9:15am to help set up. We set up tables/chairs and hand-shuffle the boards before we play.
Game starts by 9:30am, usually 9:15am . It depends on all teams being present and boards shuffled.
Meda Brown or Bruce Anderson send out an invitation every week around Tuesday or so asking who intends to participate the next week. Based on the response, hopefully by Friday/Saturday of that week, they confirm they have enough people for at least 3 tables and make arrangements (set the game schedule).
Players shuffle the boards themselves so there are no hand records available, but each pair is scored and ranked, with the results sent out after the game.
